Dungannon Mud Bog

One of Ontario’s premier events that everyone needs to get to at least once.
We’ve heard about this ride since we started riding and finally were able to get a ticket this year so we could check out the action. The event consists of what appeared to be around 400 ATV’s and UTV/side-by-sides, and launches from the L’Amable Community Centre, directly beside Highway 62 and just south of Bancroft. Pulling up to the event, we were greeted by parking staff who were very efficient in getting us and several hundred others directed to the appropriate spots for parking.

After a quick unload, we ventured over to the community centre and braced for the inevitable registration lineup, but thanks to a highly efficient registration process (or blind luck) we were first in our line. There were several registration tables taking people in. The tables were organized by the first letter of your last name making it easy to figure out where we were supposed to be. All together I we were registered and on our way in under 5 minutes – pretty impressive for such a large event.

Dungannon Mud Bog, ATV Bancroft

Getting back to the RZR, finding our buds, and getting underway, we were quickly into a little bit of mud, but due to the mild winter there was very little frost in the ground and I’m told there is usually a lot more water and mud on the trail than we saw during our day. It’s too bad, because it is definitely what we went to Dungannon to see. But don’t misunderstand – there were plenty of places to get muddy, especially for those that wanted to be a bit more creative and go off the beaten path just a little bit.
